Dr. Keyzom Bhutti Phunkyil graduated from the Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute in Dharamsala, India and was given the title Amjee. Dr. Bhutti is the first female doctor of Tibetan Medicine to practice in the United States. She settled in the Boston area after serving as a chief physician at the Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute in Darjeeling for 25 years.
Dr. Bhutti’s practice philosophy is to take care of her clients with warmth and compassion, “like a mother to the baby.”
Dr. Keyzom Bhutti was awarded The Award of Excellence for her dedicated service in the field of Tibetan Medicine for over 25 years in 1995 by the Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute. She was also awarded The SHIROMANI AWARD in 1995 and The Award of Excellence in 1997 by the Indian Board of Alternative Medicines on the occasion of the third and fifth International Congress of Alternative Medicines in Calcutta, India.
Dr. Keyzom Bhutti traveled for consultation for Tibetan medicine to France, Belgium, England, Austria and U.S.A in 1988 with Dr. Tenzin Chodak, senior personal physician to H.H. The Dalai Lama. The Tibetan government in exile organized the tour. In 1990 she was also invited to Holland for consultations and clinics. Dr. Bhutti also traveled for consultation to Ecuador in 2007 and 2008, organized by Dr. James Peterson, and to Columbia in 2007, 2008, and 2009 organized by Robert Acosta.
Amjee Bhutti makes traditional Tibetan Herbal Healing Massage Oil from different herbs and oils. The oils balance physical and mental energies promoting relaxation and free flow of energies. It also helps to improve memory.
